brain_zero_configure is a local configuration editor for supported VE.Bus inverter/chargers using a brain_zero controller. You can also edit settings files offline. You do not need an app account. The app contains no advertising, tracking, analytics, automatic crash reporting, or developer cloud sync.
Information the app handles
The app processes configuration files you choose and settings received from your controller. These can include an inverter serial number, model and firmware, electrical and battery settings, assistant programs and configuration dates. Imported settings files may contain encoded grid-access credentials. A controller address that you enter and your unfinished edits can be retained in your local workspace.
Grid passwords entered into the app are processed locally to prepare authorization data. The password input is cleared after submission; plaintext passwords are not intentionally stored in the app’s saved workspace or included in reports. Configuration files may still contain their encoded authorization data, so treat backups and exports as private.
Local controller communication
When you choose to read or apply settings, configuration data is exchanged directly between your phone and the local brain_zero controller you select. The publisher does not receive this traffic. The app restricts connections to supported local addresses and configuration endpoints. Local controller connections can use HTTP, which does not encrypt their content in transit. Use a trusted network. Local communication is not described as end-to-end encrypted.
Applying a configuration changes the connected inverter’s settings. The app reviews changes and checks fresh device data before an apply, then reads the result back. An offline demo uses synthetic data in memory and does not contact any controller.
Storage and retention
Original configuration backups, the recoverable workspace, custom battery presets and any imported assistant definitions are stored in the app’s private storage. They remain on the device until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. A new workspace replaces the previous recoverable workspace; original backups remain in the backup library. The app does not upload this private storage to a publisher service. Android backup is disabled for this app.
Offline demo state is temporary and separate from your real workspace. Leaving the demo discards its in-memory configuration; a demo file or report you explicitly export remains wherever you save it.
Files you export or share
Settings files, assistant presets and reports leave the app only when you choose a save destination or sharing action. A destination app, cloud drive, email provider or document provider handles the exported copy under its own policies. Configuration reports include device and configuration information and omit grid credential values. The publisher does not automatically receive exports. Deleting the app does not delete copies you saved elsewhere.
Permissions and third-party software
Internet access supports local controller communication. Android’s system file picker and document saver give access to the files you choose, without requesting broad access to your storage, contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera. During long operations the app can keep the display awake. The app uses Capacitor and file, sharing, screen-awake, archive and PDF components to provide these functions; it does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
Support communications
If you contact support, the publisher receives the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. They are used to answer your request and investigate the issue, and are retained only as needed for that support request or applicable obligations. Please do not send grid passwords or private configuration backups unless specifically necessary. You can request deletion of your support correspondence using the contact address below.
This website
The public support and privacy pages are hosted by Cloudflare. Visiting the website sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and access time, to the hosting provider for delivery and security. The site sets no application cookies and uses no advertising or analytics scripts. Cloudflare may retain operational and security records under its own policies. Reading the privacy policy bundled inside the app does not require a website connection.
Your choices
You can use files or the offline demo without connecting to an inverter. To delete the app’s local data on Android, open Settings → Apps → brain_zero_configure → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Save any copies you want to keep first. Delete exported files separately using the destination app. No account deletion process is needed because the app creates no accounts.
Audience and changes
The app is intended for adults who understand supported electrical equipment and its configuration. It is not directed at children. This policy will be updated when relevant data-handling practices change; the effective date above identifies this version.
